|There's a lot to be said about Cub Country. That, for example, the Chapel Hill-based outfit is helmed by Jeremy Chatelain, former bassist of Jets to Brazil. That since their 2002 debut, they have earned considerable praise for adding their own unique and undeniable crunch to a country twang and the kind of melodies that would turn any fledgling folk singer green with envy. That their ease at inhabiting several genres at once raises some serious questions about the need for genre at all. But honestly, it's probably better just to give "Lucky Knife," the muscular a-side of their latest shiny blue 7" a spin and let the music do the talking for you.
